After-school care (BSO) in Amersfoort

Frequently asked questions

How much does childcare cost in Amersfoort in 2026?

Hourly rates of daycare centres and BSOs in Amersfoort vary per location. View published rates where available and ask the provider for a rate if one is missing. Calculate your possible childcare benefit using the current information from the Dutch tax authority. The maximum hourly rates the government reimburses in 2026 are set in the KOT table.

How do I find childcare with availability in Amersfoort?

Filter by your child's age group, preferred starting month and required days. A green indication means space was reported recently; the provider confirms whether the requested combination can actually be accommodated.

What is the difference between a KDV and a BSO?

A daycare centre (KDV) is for children aged 0–4, full days or half days. After-school care (BSO) looks after school children aged 4–12 before and after school hours and during holidays. Many locations offer both.

When should I enrol my child for childcare in Amersfoort?

Ask providers in Amersfoort how long their waiting list is for your preferred start date and days. Apply as soon as you know your preferences so the provider can tell you what is possible.

Am I entitled to the Dutch childcare benefit for childcare in Amersfoort?

Childcare allowance requires an LRK-registered provider and compliance with the other Dienst Toeslagen eligibility conditions. Check the LRK number, contracted hours and hourly rate. Opvango cost indications are estimates; use the official trial calculation with your current details for 2026.

What should I compare when choosing childcare in Amersfoort?

Start with your preferred days, start date and daily route in Amersfoort. Then check opening hours, childcare type, the GGD report and published rates. Discuss settling in, closure days and contracted hours during a visit. Record any missing information and ask the provider to confirm availability and arrangements.

What can I do if I cannot find a childcare place in Amersfoort?

Ask which days or start dates may be possible and when to follow up. Also consider other neighbourhoods, nearby towns or another suitable childcare type. Check registration fees and the waiting-list process. An application, registered capacity or missing availability information does not confirm a free place.

How do I check a childcare GGD report in Amersfoort?

Find the correct location and check its LRK registration number. Read the latest public inspection report and any later follow-up inspection. Check the inspection date, which areas were assessed and the provider’s response to findings. Ask for clarification where needed; a report describes the assessed situation and does not guarantee a childcare place.
